World Water Day 22 March – Our Contribution

In 1993, the United Nations General Assembly designated 22 March as the first World Water Day. 22 years later, World Water Day is celebrated around the world shining the spotlight on a different issue every year.  In 2015, the theme for World Water Day is ‘Water and Sustainable Development’.

At Lucite International we are committed to the sustainable development of our business, which means that environmental, economic, social and cultural considerations are at the heart of our strategic planning process. They are also the defining factors in how we operate globally.

As part a number of 2020 Commitments, we have pledged to reduce our energy and water consumption by 20%.  (you can read about our other commitments here).  Excellent progress is being made towards water usage reduction at our Cassel site and we have further capital investment plans in place which will significantly contribute towards this.  See chart below.

We would be delighted to speak to our customers to share our story and to hear how you are addressing environmental targets as part of your own sustainability journey. We look forward to keeping you updated of our progress via our FreeFlow magazine and this blog.
