Meeting the needs of the world in 2050

The new edition of our FreeFlow magazine, focussing on innovation and future thinking, is now available on-line and in hard copy.

By 2050 it is predicted that there will be 2 billion more people on this planet than there are today. Add in rapid urbanisation, changing infrastructure needs, increased energy demand and a host of other challenges and you realise that every business needs to zealously pursue solutions to meet the changing needs of our society.

In the new edition of Freeflow, we have therefore chosen to focus on forward thinking and we take a look at the Middle East region which is developing at a rapid pace.

Our business too is evolving and Ian Lambert, who led our business for many years, looks back at all that has been, and continues to be, accomplished as we seek to invest in new capacity for the merchant market. We are also delighted to introduce you to our new CEO Takashi Miyaki, who shares his vision for the future and how, as part of the largest methacrylates business in the world, our Monomers Global Business Unit is responding to globalisation.

There is always something to keep us busy in the methacrylates market and the high levels of volatility being witnessed across the chemical markets currently indicate that we have entered a new chapter. You can find our usual indispensable guide to what is happening in the methacrylates market, by Malcolm Kidd, in this edition.

Find this and many other interesting topics covered in our latest FreeFlow, available on-line now.
